Amanda Information

 

The Luxe Motor yacht “Amanda” is a replica European Canal Barge built by Stentor Yachts of Sneek, Netherlands.  She was actually built in Oltenita, Romania and made her first water voyage on the Danube River at the border of Romania and Bulgaria in June, 2009.

“Amanda” is built entirely of steel with the exception of the wheelhouse which appears to be wood but is actually artistically painted aluminum.  She is 14.99 meters (49.2 feet) long and 4.85 meters (15.9 feet) wide.  Her draft is 1.05 meters (3.4 feet). Her fully loaded weight is 39 Metric Tons (86,000 pounds).  She has a single Perkins 150 HP turbo charged diesel engine and a hydraulic bow thruster.

Stentor Yachts is no longer in business but the company is noted for building luxury offshore yachts, mostly trawler-type cruisers but a few of the replica canal barges like “Amanda”.  The barge design was built in 15m, 18m, and 22m lengths.  As far as we know, “Amanda” is the only Stentor in the USA.

 

We are the second owners of “Amanda”, previously known as “Potvis”.  We purchased her in Netherlands in March, 2019 and cruised Netherlands, Belgium, and France until June, 2021 when we shipped her from Zeebrugge, Belgium to Philadelphia, PA.  She currently carries a Netherlands flag with a USA Cruising Permit.
